This is my first night answering email since the middle of December, so I have many to read and reply to. But I'm starting with yours.

I visited the Photobucket, and it left me smiling. I have such good memories of Italy, and many of them are thanks to you. Please don't remove any of the photos! They are wonderful. I would appreciate any help to putting correct names to photos, and to giving credit to the person who took the picture.

Here I have news both good and bad. I am 13 days late turning in my new book. Only tonight, about 20 minutes ago, I sent the manuscript off to my agent. It is not only late, it is twice as long as it is supposed to be! Which, of course, is what I did with the last Rain Wilds book, and I was so determined not to do it again. But I did.

My saddest news is that my writing cat, Pi, has died. For nineteen years, she was always in my office or on my lap while I was typing. There are other cats in the house, including Sam who is about 17, but it is very strange to me that Pi is no longer here.

I will be visiting Australia in the first part of April. The second part will bring me back to Europe, for Trolls&Legendes in Belgium. In may I will visit France for Imaginales, and again in June, for a festival at Saint-Malo. So this will be my very busy year for traveling.

Italy? Not in 2011, I fear, but who knows what the future will be.
