Victoria Aveyard
oK...... I'll just go and copy my opinion on "Red Queen" from the segnalibro thread here... Livello lingua basso. Worldbuilding senza "background" (it feels like "constructed" and not that the world has a real history, though the author tries to give it a history by "old maps", or mentioning that the war is going on for a 100 years) . It felt like "the author finally revealed to the reader and to the protagonist, what the reader guessed for ages, because it was so obvious." Same goes for the "finale grande". The solution of the problem was so obvious all along, that I didn't think"oh my god, how could they come out of it, what will they do" but "come on, hurry up and just do it, the solution is standing nearby. Are you dumb or what?! It's right over there!" The idea of the plot is oK. Nothing new though, (2 class society, rebels try a revolution, upper class tries to protect the existing system.) A gifted and determined author could have turned that into a good read anyway. Good point: Not too many detailed descriptions of someones jewelry or certain scents of candles BUT: instead the protagonist thinks the same sentence over and over again. Which is unnerving . And the average intelligent reader has understood the truth of that "insight" long before that sentence was mention first anyway. Leggere nuoce alla stupiditÃ

RE: Victoria Aveyard

Ely |

It's going on and on and on just like this. The only few poor times I thought, now there could be a turning point, now the protagonist will be forced into action, it turned out to not really getting anywhere at all. It is a masterpiece in that it must be pretty hard to turn something like an end-fight into something that passive and uninstinctive... Leggere nuoce alla stupiditÃ

RE: Victoria Aveyard
