RE: Le Cinque Stirpi - Markus Heitz
I nani mi piaceva! tanto!
The Albae are indeed like a sequel to the dwarfs, but actually, I am under the impression, that the story was not written so well. It's like he just tried to serve the German popular German "Darkness" Hype: if it's dark, so it's cool by definition. (you know, we have a scene of "I am a mix between Old-Nordic-Pagan and Evil-Erotic Satanist" types, bands and cons) It seemed to me, that in the Albae, the quality of writing and plotting wasn't of the same importance, than the producing a "dark image". He could have written it much better, while maintaining the concept of the dark side being the ones you want to win. That would have been really cool. Unfortunately, at a certain point, I found the ones I was supposed to be wanting to win, slightly annoying and that got stronger to the end of the book. Heitzs' ideas for the story WERE interesting though. Somehow I just have the feeling that he should have been able to do a much better job. I recommend you actually to read it, though I'd say, go to the library, and read it for free and just decide later, if you feel like paying for it. Leggere nuoce alla stupiditÃ
