RE: L'evidenziatore
Da The Lef Hand of Darkness di Ursula LeGuin:Â
"Truth is a matter of the immagination." "The unknown, the unforetold, the unproven, that is what life is based on. Ignorance is the ground of thought. Unproof is the ground of action. If it were proven that there is no God there would be no religion. But also if it were proven that there is a God, there would be no religion... Tell me, what is known? What is sure, predictable, inevitable - the one certain thing you know concerning your future and mine? That we shall die. There is really only one question that can be answered, and we already know the answer... The only thing that makes life possible is permanent, intolerable uncertainty: not knowing what comes next." "What is more arrogant than honesty?" "The most important thing, the heaviest single factor in one's life, is whether one's born male or female. In most societies it determines one's expectations, activities, outlook, ethics, manners - almost everything." "I certainly wasn't happy. Happiness has to do with reason, and only reason erns it. What I was given was the thing you can't earn, and can't keep, and often don't even recognize at the time; I mean joy." marco La vita è così grande / che quando sarai sul punto di morire / pianterai un ulivo / convinto ancora di vederlo fiorire.

Lei fa quest'effetto Da Unclean Spirits di MLN Hanover (che altri non è se non Daniel Abraham): "My dad's kind of old-school. Where school means testament. He never really got into yhat love-thy-neighbour-as-thyself part." marco La vita è così grande / che quando sarai sul punto di morire / pianterai un ulivo / convinto ancora di vederlo fiorire.

RE: L'evidenziatore
Da Darker Angels di MLN Hanover / Daniel Abrahms:
"He was beautiful the way a familiar leather jacket is beautiful. He always reminded me of Sunday mornings and tangled sheets." "Love is when something's gotten into you, changed who you are, and made you into something not quite whole and entirely self-destructive." "Here's the thing about sex. It's like music or lenguage or anything really human and complicated. It can express anything: love or lust or anger, loss or sorrow." "There were a hundred things to say. Sane, rational, responsible things. You're still married. You're vulnerable. We don't really know what we are to each other. We should be careful. I didn't even manage Do you have a condom?" "Fighting a losing battle isn't the same as being powerless." "If you restrict who you work with to the mentally well, you may find yourself short of allies." Da Vicious Grace, stesso autore: "Nothing lasts forever. Everything changes, all the time. And that's all right. We all came together last year, and if some part of that changes, it's because it's time that it change. We've all lost families and lovers and things that were precious to us, and we've survived." "We make a picture of how we want the world to be, and most of the time it isn't like that. Holding on to that image causes the suffering. Not the world, not the truth. Our disappointment is what makes us hurt." "This isn't about fault or judgment or righteousness. Those are all traps. This just is what it is." "I'd always thought of horror as the thing from the movies, the scary monster that jumps out from dark corners. I'd benn wrong. Horror is doing something terrible because you have to." "The tricky thing about innocence is you don't know you've got it until you've lost it. You think that you're worldly and experienced and maybe a little jaded, but you're not. You find out something about the world or about yourself, and it changes everything. Puts everything up for grabs again." marco La vita è così grande / che quando sarai sul punto di morire / pianterai un ulivo / convinto ancora di vederlo fiorire.

RE: L'evidenziatore
Citazione:I think I would rather have a cat than a sweetheart, after all.  They are less trouble, and even the handsomest sweetheart is sadly lacking in fur. Citazione:Most of the time when you laugh, it's because something is amiss - clumsy or wrong or sad - but when you laugh at a kitten, you laugh of pure joy. Citazione:But I think the most important thing those books gave me was a kind of faith. My books promised me that life wasn’t just made up of workaday tasks and prosaic things. The world is bigger and more colorful and more important than that. Laura Amy Schtliz, The hired girl One does not need the size of a dragon to have the soul of a dragon. Robin Hobb |

RE: L'evidenziatore
"Like wine poured into water, the war strained the world even where the actual fighting had not yet reached." "The story of a person could never be as complex as they actually were because then it would take as much time to know someone as it did to be them. Reputation, even when deserved, inevitably mean simplification, and every simplification deformed." "When you start talking about killed friends and lost babies, justice and revenge are two names for the same dog. If the question's how much do we have to punish the other side before we can stomach peace, my experience is you can do the enemy a damned lot of hurt before it starts feeling like justice enough. Most times it comes down to how many of them you can kill before you get tired and bored. And whether you can break them so they don't take their turn after." "Looking for everyone to feel happy is waiting for yesterday." "Etiquette was such a beautiful system of lies. It allowed everyone to pretend when the truth was too ugly to bear." "Love, I believe, is a small thing that feels large. I find the feelings might overwhelm, but the action is between a handful of people. War, by comparison, seems to me so large and happens so differently to so many people that capturing it in a tale leaves me with the sense that I've simplified it so much that it no longer resembles the thing it depicts." "There was and always had been a gap wide enough to march a cohort between speaking truth and being understood." "The aftermath of sex insulated her from herself, and it felt glorious. Better than wine even, although wine alone never risked getting a girl pregnant." "I believe that history is a listing of atrocities and horror not because we are evil, but because history is itself a kind of performance. And we are fascinated by those events and characters which are most unlike our essential selves." "War, I think, only involves a particular manner of death. Everyone always dies. It's the price of being born." "It isn't mercy if you deserve it. Mercy justified is only justice." "The world has never been fair. Often beautiful. Sometimes kind when kindness was not deserved. But never fair." marco La vita è così grande / che quando sarai sul punto di morire / pianterai un ulivo / convinto ancora di vederlo fiorire.
